Trevira: Summing up MoOD 2012 - Successful partner concept and Trevira CS Award for Fidivi

Trevira expressed its satisfaction with the partner concept at MoOD in September. As a feature of its new Club concept, the fibre manufacturer made its appearance on the Trevira CS Square in Brussels, exhibiting together with 11 Gold and Silver customers from the weaving sector. At MoOD Yarns there were also six of the most important Trevira CS yarn spinners / finishers on show.
“Initial feedback from customers has shown the Trevira CS Square with our joint stand was well received by them“, says Head of Marketing at Trevira, Anke Vollenbröker. “It was also an interesting event for our partners from the yarn stage, making a first appearance at MoOD Yarns. We all stand to gain by using market platforms together. Networking across every stage, combined with joint approaches to the market, is growing in importance for European suppliers and absolutely essential for extending the brand. Our collective appearance also facilitates access to the new contract collections for decision-makers, since a large number of prestigious suppliers are gathered in the one place. This constitutes a substantial attraction to the fair visitors“.

Exhibitors at the Trevira CS Square were: Création Baumann, Dina Vanelli, Fidivi, Lodetex, Ludvig Svensson, Müller Zell, Pugi, Rohleder, Spandauer Velours, Velours Blafo and Verotex. At MoOD Yarns were Trevira CS yarn customers Fil Man Made, Hof Garn, Selvafil, Torcitura Lei-Tsu, Torcitura Padana and Torcitura Fibre Sintetiche.

…and the Winner is: Fidivi

Now an established tradition, the Trevira CS Award for the most innovative collection went to a weaver who has been working with flame retardant yarns for more than 25 years, becoming over time one of Trevira’s biggest customers.
Founded in the early 1940s, the weavers Fidivi (Italy) were originally involved in developing seat fabrics for the automotive industry. Today they have 28 looms in production at Poirino, 80% of which operate with Trevira CS materials. In addition, the company has its own dye works, warping and stitching departments, as well as facilities for electro- welding and thermo-foaming.
Fidivi have a reputation for high-quality upholstery materials for office chairs and they are already working with well-known design-oriented furniture manufacturers. The company has at present 27 Trevira CS collections in its programme. The special feature of the fabrics is their wool and linen effect. Now they have not only extended their range, they have refined it as well. This is particularly true of the articles in the new “Fidivi Vintage Collection”, where they use a variety of techniques to create special effects.

The article Inka, for example, shows in its structure not a single repetition in one roll of fabric, so that a very natural look is achieved with the use of a standard yarn. Class Tela is a fabric with melange effect, with the dyed yarns employed offering a wide range of colours. Class Spigato is a fishbone pattern, imitating a classical wool design, while Ideal uses a bouclé yarn to give the material a special and very natural retro look.
All the articles have one thing in common: With their woollen character and also their range of soft colours, they reflect the vintage trend we are seeing these days.

Award for Trevira CS yarn too

A further award for a Trevira CS product at MoOD went to a yarn manufacturer. Fancy yarn specialist Filati Giuseppe Lucchesi (Italy) received the “Blue Drop Award“, offered by the trade fair organizers also for innovative yarns for the first time. Collaborating with Müller Zell, Lucchesi created a Trevira CS contract fabric from the new yarn with the look and feel of linen.
