Product range
PLA (polylactic acid) yarns are new in the Indorama Ventures range. They can be used in areas as diverse as apparel, home textiles or technical applications, and we are working towards their adaptation for use in the food industry.
PLA - advantages at a glance
- Made of 100% renewable raw materials
- Significantly lower CO2 emissions and much lower energy consumption in the production of the raw material
- Recyclable and 100% biodegradable (industrially compostable)
- Good UV stability
- Good fastness to light
- Good wicking properties (important in functional apparel, for example)
- Higher elasticity than PET
- Lower dyeing temperatures mean energy savings during the dyeing process

Flat yarns: 100 dtex
Textured yarns: on 76 and 167 dtex basis
Recycled yarns - supply and packaging
Spools (palette packaging) or warped on section beam (TKB)
