Comparative burning test
This test shows how flame retardant Trevira CS textiles (left) melt only slowly after the ignition source is extinguished, while conventional textiles (right) go up totally in flames.
National and international standards that test the burn behaviour of materials make an essential contribution to preventative fire safety. Through compliance with legally required, government-regulated measures it is possible to reduce the risk of fire in buildings considerably.
Trevira CS textiles meet the key burn test standards throughout the world. It is a precondition of the issue of the Trevira CS trademark that the textile fabric has been tested for flame retardancy.
Indorama Ventures works with a variety of testing laboratories to undertake orienteering burn tests, produce test reports, obtain authorisation for building works and organise certification. Detailed information is available about our Certificates and test reports and ways to download these.

Trevira CS fabrics are used in many fields of application. Below you can view a selection of the most important currently valid test standards that are applied when determining the burn behaviour of textiles, showing the flammability class achievable by Trevira CS:
