Trevira at JEC in Paris

Trevira GmbH, Germany, participates in the JEC Composites Show 2014 in Paris with its polyester specialities for the first time. The polyester polymer, yarn and fibre manufacturer presents a vast range of flat and textured filament yarns, either in raw white or spun-dyed, as well as special staple fibre types for the use in composite materials.

Polyester filaments for multilayer fabrics

With its in-house flexible PET polymer production and more than 10 years of experience in the multilayer fabric segment, Trevira offers the market a comprehensive range of flat and texturized filament yarns as well as customized sewing threads / stitch-bonding yarns for this end-use. The range includes hybrid yarns, based on regular filaments combined with low-melt threads and inherently flame retardant versions.
All Trevira filaments are available on spools as well as warped on sectional beams.

Thermal bonding with special yarns and fibres

For thermal bonding, Trevira offers low-melt polyester chips, filaments and fibres for thermobonded prepregs.

Special low-melt polyester polymers with melt temperatures varying from 130°C to 205°C allow adjusting the melt temperature according to customer requirements. These are available either in 100 % low-melt polyester or as hybrid yarns in various titres. Products for thermal bonding include a wide range of staple fibres, also as bi-component types.

Composite prepregs bonded with Trevira low-melt polyester are sustainable and recyclable. Trevira low-melt bonding products help to reduce waste rates in the prepreg process.
