Trevira CS® celebrates 45 years at Clerkenwell Design Week 2025

Presentation of some articles and fabrics of the Trevira CS Fabric Creativity Competition 2025 in London

Bangkok, May 9 - During Clerkenwell Design Week from May 20 to 22 in London's Clerkenwell district, Indorama Ventures is inviting design enthusiasts and trade visitors to discover the diverse fabric world of its Trevira® CS brand. This year the brand also celebrates its 45th anniversary!

Visitors can get to see some Trevira CS fabrics from the participants in this year's fabric competition. Trevira CS partners worldwide were invited to submit their latest and most creative fabric and yarn creations to this competition, demonstrating the diversity of Trevira CS textiles in terms of comfort and safety, quality and innovative design

Focusing on the fact that Trevira CS textiles are permanently flame retardant, the competition encouraged entrants to explore the intersection of textile design, functionality and safety. Participants were able to submit entries in five different categories:

  1. Creating safely with COLOR AND STYLE: Sophisticated and unusual approaches to interior design.
  2. Tested fire safety for great COMFORT AND TOUCH: Focus on well-being through tactile experiences and additional functional properties such as sound absorption and thermal effects.
  3. Preventing fire in LIGHT AND DARKNESS: Use of different transparencies to create fascinating plays of light.
  4. Acting safe on HEAVY DUTY: Highlighting durable fabrics that are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, with a particular focus on UV stability.
  5. Reliable safety for TIMELESS ALLROUNDERS: Presenting durable performance in terms of flame retardancy and aesthetics.

A top-class, independent jury of industry experts - Prof. Bettina Göttke-Krogmann, Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk and Marty Lamers - thoroughly evaluated over 250 anonymized fabric and 24 yarn entries. From this diverse pool of entries, they selected 26 exceptional winners as well as 3 special articles that were more than worthy of a Special Mention for their look, feel and composition.

The Clerkenwell district in London has more architects and creative companies per square mile than anywhere else in the world. This makes Clerkenwell and London one of the most important design centres in the world. The event not only offers the opportunity to experience the outstanding Trevira CS products at first hand, but also to learn about the key benefits of these materials.

Trevira CS®, a brand of Indorama Ventures, stands for safety and quality. All fabrics with the Trevira CS trademark are tested for flame retardancy and meet international fire protection standards. Their flame-retardant properties are firmly anchored in the polyester fiber and guarantee long-term safety, that does not wear off due to use or washing. These properties make Trevira CS ideal for use in hotels, restaurants, hospitals, public buildings and many other areas.

Clerkenwell Design Week 2025 offers an excellent platform to experience the synergies between permanent flame retardancy and innovative, diverse Trevira CS articles. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the quality, feel, variety and color brilliance for themselves and hold the articles of some of the participants of the Trevira CS fabric competition 2025 in their hands.

Design enthusiasts are cordially invited to visit the German Pavilion / German Collection at 1 Sekforde St. London EC1R 0BE, Stand G7.

About Trevira CS, www.treviracs.com

Trevira CS®, is a trademark of Indorama Ventures. All fabrics bearing the Trevira CS trademark have been tested by Indorama Ventures for their flame retardancy. They meet the requirements of the relevant international home textile fire protection standards and can be certified in accordance with IMO regulations for the maritime sector.

The production of modified flame-retardant staple fibers and filament yarns is fully integrated in-house. In contrast to flame-retardant finished fabrics, which can lose their original flame-retardant protection through use, ageing or frequent washing, Trevira CS textiles offer long-term safety. This is due to the chemical structure of the polyester fiber: the flame-retardant properties are firmly anchored in the fiber and cannot be washed out.

Due to their inherent flame retardant properties, all Trevira CS fabrics create a safe, attractive and comfortable environment for hotels, restaurants, hospitals, offices, public buildings, railroads, airplanes and cruise ships. A wide range of collections with endless of designs is available worldwide. The fabrics are used as curtains, drapes, decorative and upholstery fabrics, in interior sun protection and as wall coverings or room dividers.
